Not only do Lynne Hull's sculptures and installations serve as a symbolic message about saving the environment, but they also provide what Hull describes as "eco-atonement." This term sums up the purpose of Hull's mission, which is to compensate for the negative impact that society has had on the environment by creating shelter and sources of nutrition for a wide variety of animals.
